Daniels, John M.

Augie’s Quick Post
Welcome to Augie’s Corner, today we will be interviewing John M. Daniel, whose forthcoming release in November of this year is called Behind the Redwood Door.
Welcome John,
Thanks, Augie. I’m happy to be here
Augie: First I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit with us today. I know that you are very busy, but sometimes we all need to take a break and just have fun just yakking. Will that be ok?
John: Of course. Yak away!
Augie: Thank you, let’s sit back and hit it over a hot cup of tea.
John: Make mine coffee. It’s early in the day.
Augie: No problem, coffee it is.
John has at least five novels published, from mystery and fantasy to mainstream fiction and a how-to-do-book. So I take it that you do not have just one writing style. Will you share with the audience when do you know which Genre you will be writing in?
John: I always have a good idea what genre I’m working in before I start writing. For one thing, I think a lot about a novel, even to the point of rough outlining, before I start writing. A couple of my novels involve my family history, and I’m guided by gossip.
Augie: This is intriguing, I never thought about using gossip as a tool, but you’re right there is so much juicy information that one hears, hey why not.
Can you tell the audience a little about yourself? I understand you are a recent import to the Humboldt area of California. Will Behind the Redwood Door and future pieces relate to this beautiful area? I love it there. I traveled through Humboldt when I was heading north to Washington.
John: Behind the Redwood Door is indeed set on the North Coast of California, in Redwood Country, between rocky beaches and the Trinity Alps range. But there’s so much fiction in this novel (including a rich history that I made up from scratch) that I renamed it Jefferson County.
Augie: I’m somewhat of a fantasy mixed-up history kinda gal, so I love when stories can be written with truth but eccentric enough to spread to the realm of odyssey, so I love made up people and places with realism. And John you are very good at giving us both. So, what are your expectations in regards to Behind the Redwood Door?

Melodie C

Augie's Quick Post

Today we will be interviewing Melodie Campbell, who’s latest Fantasy and Futuristic Novel ‘Rowena Through the Wall’ is now #2 on the Amazon.ca top 100 book sale list, can you believe it! Melodie has 5 awards for fictions,  over 200 publications, including 100 humor columns, 30 short stories and now her first published novel.

Welcome Melodie,

First of all I must say that I admire your humor as well as your writing, but before we sit back and girl talk let me tell you that I am so proud of you and where your writing has taken you.

Can I say it again, #2 out of all the submissions to Amazon, and lady it’s you.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to sit and talk a while. I am sure there will be many comments for you to answer later, but right now let’s kick back (I hope you don’t mind, but I need to take these heels off) and talk over a hot cup of Jasmine Tea.

Oh Augie!  Always coffee J  Kenyan, with double cream.

Well, okay that sounds even better!

Tell us how Rowena Through the Wall came about. I know that it is a fantasy, but where did you draw from to introduce such a fantastic character?
I got my start writing comedy, and had a humor column for several years.

That’s Fantastic.
In 1993, a producer from fledgling HBO say my play ‘Burglar for Coffee,’ labeled it “Completely nuts” and offered me a spot writing pilots, which I stupidly turned down.  This goes on record as one of the worst decisions ever made by a human not officially insane.

Wow.
Rowena was the story I should have written back then.  I wanted to write a rollicking adventure, something akin to ‘The Princess Bride’, but from the point of view of a strong female.  It also had to be a vehicle for wacky humor.  I can’t seem to write straight.  Every time I do, the gremlins take over and twist the words.

I love that. You are so witty as well as entertaining, no wonder why audiences want to hear and read whatever you’re doing. I’m sure we all would like to know that with all the success as Rowena Through The Wall, will there be a sequel?
Yes!  I am half way through Rowena and the Dark Lord now.  There will be an increase in magic,

Sunny

Augie's Quick Post

Welcome to Augie’s Corner, today we will be interviewing Sunny Frazier, who wears many hats at the same time, not only is she an Award Winning Writer, but also an Acquisition Editor, whose soon to be released  ‘A Snitch in Time’ by Oak Tree Press.

Welcome Sunny,

First I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit with us today. I know that you are very busy, but sometime we all need to take a break, just to sit and talk with a friend.

Sunny, you all over the Internet from blogging on Face Book, Crime Space, Oak Tree Press, (oh that’s your home page), and you are so busy, updating your Posse with sites to visit. We’ll get back to the Posse in a little bit. So let’s sit back and talk over a hot cup of tea, actually let’s have a glass of homemade lemonade if you don’t mind, I’ll treat.

Q. Let’s go back a little in time; I know that you are published in at least two novels, and many other publications. I’m wondering since you are so versatile how this new Christy Bristol Astrology Mystery fit into any of your other novels, and if it does not then what is the difference?

A.  A. This is the third in the series. With each book, Christy grows a bit as a person, both in her self-reliance and self-image. There are several themes I want to examine with the book. First, can astrology be used as a tool to profile and find a killer? Second, who is the better friend: Christy or Lennie? And finally, what will my protagonist do when she realizes not just one man is attracted to her, but two?

Q. Whoa…all of this resonates as pretty steamy. It’s good to let Christy grow as we shall see in your latest Novel ‘Christy Bristol Astrology Mystery, A Snitch In Time,’ this Novel sounds intriguing. Let me ask you,

Morris, C.

Augie's Quick Post

Last week I was able to complete reading my first Western Novel by Chuck Morris called ‘Jack Montana.’

Jack is the main character in this story, you see, he was a throw away, an orphan that went from wrangler boss to wrangler, whoever won him is where he would lay his head. Until one day he met Dan and Martha Walker who took him in as their boy and gave him the name of Montana (good reading).

This fascinating Novel is written by a real live Cowboy, who owned a workin ranch in Missouri, where he would round up wild horses and break em for ridin.

I met this amazing man at Borders in Ontario, California (before its demise). He was such a gentleman, speaking with a soft twang about his love for horses and all things Western.

His Novel captures the heart of the West even though now living in Southern California with his wife,
